Defensible Training System

Our Defensible Training System build
in the following components:

Documentation
Picture of documentation
Documentation is everything when it comes to demonstrating due diligence in an investigation. It establishes credibility and truth.

We first check with your legal department, particularly if the training and tests we will be creating could have a career effect on the learners, such as hire-fire, promote-don't promote, demote, etc. We also ensure that your HR department understands criterion-referenced test assumptions. (HR departments are often familiar only with norm-referenced testing procedures, and if needed, we will explain the criterion-referenced test structure we use in our process.)

We document the processes we use when building your Defensible Training System, including, but not limited to the content determination, the instructional design decisions, the materials development process, the training process for your trainers who will be assigned to delivering the training, and the decisions made in creating the program evaluation tools.

This documentation is systematically created and becomes a permanent and integral part of your Defensible Training System.

Competency Analysis

Instructional designers interview experienced workers and summarize job tasks into competency profile charts. These charts become the foundation for training content and competency assessment.

Training Manuals

Our Training Manuals build on your operation and maintenance manuals. They serve as both a teaching tool and a reference for each learner. They can be in hard copy or on-line. Each manual includes:

Photos of your equipment in your operating environment

Concepts required to create workers who can think independently on the job

Step-by-step instructions required to complete job tasks identified in the competency profile chart

Integration of your standard operating procedures into task instructions

Practical recommendations from experienced operators / subject matter experts

Quick Reference Guides

Quick Reference Guides contain the key operating procedures and the critical information that the operator requires on the job.

Knowledge Quizzes

Written tests ensure the learner has grasped key concepts presented by the trainer.

Trainer Guides

Trainer Guides provide a map for course delivery, ensuring consistency in content and teaching methods from one instructor to the next. They facilitate optimal learning by incorporating varied instructional techniques and checklists of expected performance standards, task by task.

Trainee Log Books

Log books record the details of each training session completed by trainees. They enable trainees to ensure they have been through all the learning and practice sessions required before being assessed. Log books are carried by learners and turned over to the assessor for review and validation just prior to assessment. They become part of the learners' permanent records and help to provide proof that training actually took place.

Field Assessments

This tool provides a checklist of job tasks that trainees must perform in order to demonstrate that they have achieved predetermined measurable, observable standards of competence. Once successfully completed, the field assessment becomes a document that signifies learners can perform the job to the standards listed.

Our Clients

Our clients are resource sector managers focused on contributing to their companies' productivity, profitability and long-term viability.

They have dreams, but they are run ragged with the day-to-day demands of production, crisis du jour, the meetings and the unexpected, and always with the weight of personal liability hanging over their heads should there be a serious injury or environmental incident.

When they discover there is a way to reduce the pressure and improve results, they can start looking forward to going to work again.
